Built my engine but was told gray is better.

So having restored my 1999 Ford 7.3L Diesel I am pleased with its anti-leak properties. I had an issue where it was leaking, but after running %^&*() to fix the part, the leak was "clean" so I'm guessing I'm leaving a greasy fingerprint or something have. CLEAN and rubbing alcohol on work surfaces. I have no oil leaks and am completely satisfied with the black color. I've also been told that the "great stuff" versions are better.
