Review on πŸ”« DeWALT DWHTGR50 Ceramic Glue Gun with Rapid Heat - Yellow by Justin Miller

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Stopped heating after 10 months, does not supply standard glue sticks

I've used this from time to time and I liked its quick heating, less than a minute for example. I had some regular glue sticks on hand and found that the feed mechanism didn't catch them, they were too narrow. Some older, thicker sticks will eat normally. I've found that I can use a hot tip to melt golf ball pits into thin sticks, then serve and grab them. Some pain really. Then, after 10 months, I go glue something and the gun is cold as stone. Dead. yes i connected Out of curiosity, and I'm a techie, I completely disassembled the gun. I plugged it in while it was on the table and to my surprise it got hot. I do not know why. All electrical connections looked secure. So I put it back together and now it's working again. Please do not attempt this at home unless you know what HIGH VOLTAGE electrical safety is. It looks like a shop but I don't recommend it. He needs expensive sticks to support himself well and is prone to sudden death. Get something simpler and cheaper. That being said, and before I take it apart, Dewalt will send me a replacement unit, I will say their customer service is very good. Soon I will have TWO of these glue guns, I did not expect that.
