So my 15 year old fan was an 8814, NOT an 8814R. The new mounting plate will fit into the case, but the cut out for the 2 pin connector will NOT fit. You will need to widen the cutout by half an inch with metal scissors as others have suggested. Instead I transferred all the new parts to the old existing mounting plate. (requires 9mm socket wrench). If you move parts, you need to change the rubber damper. The new damper serves two purposes: it reduces vibration and acts as a cushion to prevent the fan from rubbing against the metal edge. What I did: I cross cut the ends of the damper bushing to allow the motor mounting bolts to go all the way through the holes so the nuts could grip. TLDR: 1. New parts replaced with old stove.2. Cut the damper across so the motor mounting bolts go all the way through the other side.3. Enjoy a running fan in the bathroom.
