Review on ๐ŸŒก๏ธ Stant Superstat Premium Stainless Steel Thermostat: Optimum Temperature Control for Enhanced Performance by Robert Farrar

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fits 2003 KIA Spectra 1.8L - 195 degrees vs 180 degrees - see below.

In my case, changing from the recommended 180 degree thermostat in a 2003 1.8 liter KIA Spectra engine to a 195 degree thermostat fixed a known issue, which caused the check engine light to come on, indicating that the engine is not warming up. as soon as necessary in cold weather. The 195 degree model allowed the engine to warm up to operating temperature much faster than before. It also gave me heat faster. The temperature display on the dashboard shows the same or a little higher while driving, but remains within the normal range. As with any vehicle, ensure that the antifreeze/coolant mixture is correct and that other components of the cooling system are functioning properly. It worked fine for me, but do not use the 195 degree model in place of the 180 model unless you feel you need it or are uncomfortable deviating from the factory specified model as you do this at your own risk.
