The remote control doesn't work!

The remote control that distinguishes this product from other similar products does not work. I thought maybe the battery was dead but after spending more money to buy a new battery (actually two as I could only find them in 2 packages) I realized it wasn't the battery it was the remote control itself, which was dead. 1 star for now if I can get a working remote control without having to remove and return the entire light kit I will be happy to reconsider my rating of this product.
