Kohler San Rafael doesn't fit!

Contrary to the description, these valves will NOT fit a Kohler's San Raphael (K3384CA) toilet. not even close! The "arms" acting as a hinge are too short and too close together, they can't bypass the rectangular overflow pipe as intended. Phew, so now a trip to the hardware store to get hold of the right thing personally. Waste of a week with this mess.
