I love it but to be honest I have to take two capsules (200mg) most of the time to get any significant effect. 100 mg alone doesn't seem to help me and I also take other substances like methylated B vitamins, magnesium, zinc, potassium and vitamin C to increase my serotonin levels. fully methylated B6 or a B formula such as Solgar P5P (pyridoxal-5-phosphate, the active form of vitamin B₆) or Thorne's basic B-complex AND with vitamin C. This helps 5-HTP be absorbed properly. Doctor's Best also makes a separate 5-HTP product that contains vitamin B6 and vitamin C. However, vitamin B6 is not methylated. If you have low serotonin levels, you may also have methylation issues and may need to take B vitamins that are already methylated (i.e., bioactive versions). You can get tested for the MTHFR gene to see if your body is methylating properly or not. I have a problem with the MTHFR gene, so I'm much better off on B vitamins that are already methylated so my system can absorb them.
