When the 30 year old chain on our bedroom fan broke I was only too sure there would be an easy fix. But after purchasing the 3-wire model to the local shop; I have found that this is not all. This switch has a well defined L (live wire) hole and press fit terminals for all 4 wires. If you are careful, only disconnect 1 wire from the old switch and connect it to the new one; No need to take a photo or create a color chart. The new front derailleur has a slimmer profile than the original; so it was a bit easier to put all the wires and capacitors back in. If this lasts as long as the original; someone else will replace it with a new fan.
