Review on ๐Ÿฌ Dolphin Authentic Replacement Parts - Remote Control Unit | Maytronics Part: 9993179-R1 | Top-Quality Accessories for Your Dolphin Cleaner by Nikki Lewis

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Fast/Slow functions don't seem to be working properly. Works slowly but sluggishly to maneuver manually.

I'll give my full review of the Premier robot and the remote that came with it: We bought the Dolphin Premier after reading the mostly positive reviews and rating it #1 here . We have busy schedules and don't have the luxury of manually walking around the pool every day with a conventional vacuum to remove debris. We have a lot of trees, so the pool is constantly maintained. The pool is almost finished but we've probably used the cleaner about 20 times already as the landscaping around the underground pool (plus the constant high winds we've had lately) makes the pool dirty and requires the use of a robot. So far I've only used a large bag and medium filters for cleaning. I think the big bag is primarily for picking up leaves, but I've used it to pick up sunken branches and leaves, as well as dirt that has settled on the ground. And for some reason, when it rains, the worms love to crawl in and drown. The robot copes with all this very well. But cleaning the bag is a pain. There is no easy way. I don't have time to machine wash it after each use. So I left the bag in the machine for maybe 5 cycles, then unhooked it and hosed it down to remove dirt. The bag can (obviously) hold MUCH more debris than pleated filters. I find myself cumming on them almost every time, so I'm temporarily stopping using them. I also always got "clogged" lights with this because the pool was dirty as mentioned above. I think they are mainly for a pretty clean pool. Until the pool is ready, I take a large canvas bag. Now my beef: 1. The instruction is awful (VERY VERY vague on how the robot works).2. Snaps/snaps on the handle NO MENTION on tricks needed to help him climb walls better (had to check with the guy on youtube to find out what they even do) Dirt but our water chemistry is good so I don't know). We have to assume that the floats on the handle are not adjusted correctly. The brushes are new and may not match what is stated in the manual.4. The device only seems to run the process for about an hour and as far as I know this cannot be set to say 2 or 3 hours at a time. The buttons on the power box are only for how many times a week, but who actually uses the robot like that? I take mine out after every start or two to flush out after a power outage that resets everything anyway. We also bought a remote control which is pretty much useless. No instructions other than a few words on the basics. The manual movement works, but the robot moves very slowly. The quick loop that tells the robot NOT to try to drive up walls DOES NOT WORK. Tried everything and can't get these two functions on the remote to change anything. Still working long hours and always TRYING to climb the walls but can't.6. Finally, we have a steel liner pool that has a funnel design. The robot keeps getting stuck between the lines of the bunker where it has no flat surface to walk on. He will try to get up when he knows he can't. He'll be stuck there and maybe try for a few minutes before giving up and retiring.

Pros

Cons
  • For seniors
