I like the manual mode, but this unit doesn't have much that requires a remote control. I have it just in case, but I don't think it's used often.

Not. Dolphin measures the pool and goes where it needs to go. But if you have a place you want to clean up, this will work. I just turn on the Dolphin and leave it alone and it cleans the pool with no problem.

This remote control is completely unusable. The dolphin reacts very erratically to this, making it impossible to get it to go where you want it to be. Waste of time and money, don't even bother.

Note that there are two types of remotes - Basic and Pro. gives you extra functionality for things like opening up your pool (advanced cleaning). I don't care why Maytronics designed a simple and professional remote that isn't very customer centric!
