Review on Denso 671 6289 Ignition Wire Set by William Mahajan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Ideal for 2004 Kia Sorento.

I bought these after a HORRIBLE experience with a cheap aftermarket kit I bought off eBay. Little did I know that changing these wires would take hours of hard work, so I apologized to my mechanic for asking him twice, but it was worth it. The set I bought on eBay was a very cheap generic nameless product and when I opened the packaging they actually appeared very cheap and flimsy. But I really didn't know any better and figured if they fit, they'll do the job. It didn't take long for me to realize how WRONG I was. Unfortunately, my particular Kia vehicle requires Kia [or OEM] spark plugs, ignition coils and wires, otherwise it will misfire. And I'm not kidding - this car has NO parts tolerance. I've dealt with choppy idling, hesitation, stumbling and harsh shifting. You name it, I had it. And I spent several hundred dollars and a SERIOUS amount of headache before my mechanic finally figured out that the aftermarket cables were useless, at least for my car. The resistance was too high and was overloading my coils causing the spark plugs to misfire. This is how I found out that Denso was the OEM supplier of Kia's ignition coils and wires at the time my car was made and this particular Denso kit is identical in every way to the kit originally manufactured. I took THIS out of the box, I knew we were talking! They are heavy and feel like they have some weight. They're also very thick and the fit and finish is light years better than the cheap set I've had before. And now my car drives like a dream! Idling is smooth, shifts are perfect, acceleration is precise - just as it should be! If you have a 2004 Kia Sorento, PLEASE do yourself a favor and buy it. You will definitely not regret it :)
