I bought this seat belt pad because I always tuck my seat belt under my arm so it doesn't rub or put pressure on my neck. However, this removes part of the seat belt security element, which is not ideal. I've been using this seat belt for 2 years with no problems. I wouldn't call the lining memory foam, but the microfiber is very soft and the lining that comes with it is comfortable to wear for hours. Most importantly, I no longer feel like I'm being strangled by a seat belt. I've never noticed an odor from a pad, even when it's new (and I'm very sensitive to smells). The gray color goes well with my seat belt. Sometimes the seat belt pad needs to be adjusted or it can prevent the seat belt from rolling up when exiting the car (probably because of the position I placed it). However, I never noticed an issue with the seat belt not holding me. I intend to continue using this seat belt pad for the foreseeable future.
