Installation: I had a leak from using the wrong tool, twisting an old pipe behind a wall, and trying to unscrew an old split-entry cold water faucet. What an exam. I had to cut through the bottom panel and spray bleach on the inside to prevent mold. The fan had to blow into the cut hole. I had to glue the bottom panel under the sink. It cost me $170 (ugh) to have a plumber come over the weekend to quickly identify and fix my fault. Hopefully MFG will update their instructions? Murphy's Law, anyone? I had to cut drywall with a multitool. I currently have no water in my garden until I find time to do my own pipe repair. Do yourself a favor, use the sewer fasteners to unscrew the cold water fitting so you don't burst the pipe by twisting the outlet pipe. from the wall. Channel locks provide enough leverage to unscrew old fittings. Otherwise, the installation was mostly uncomplicated with the supplied instructions. There is a normal installation video on YT. Had to use a 1 1/4" butterfly drill with a bit to cut holes for routing the UV AC power cord behind and under the kitchen counter, cabinets and dishwasher. A vacuum was used for cleaning. Design: UV- Lamp is always on when plugged in. The UV lamp is connected to an extension cord with switches for each outlet. The outlet switch allows me to turn off the UV lamp when I know it's not in use!I recycle 1 -Gallon plastic water jugs so I can refill 3 a gallon This may be more of a process than I'd like, but I bet this process will allow me to double the life of my UV bulb by turning it off when it's gone is inactive (UV light costs more than $70 time ordering and filter change.) Time to fill tank is 1-3 hours depending on city water pressure. My reservoir fills up in 90 minutes. With An open cupboard under the sink and a stopwatch allow you to determine when to fill up the tank. The taste is pleasant! Love that I don't have to leave, Walmart doesn't fill my jugs with water anymore! Her car broke down for weeks! Now I'm becoming a real hydrophile! MUAH HA HA HAAAAAAA!
