Really cheap solution - so far so good

I was pleasantly surprised by this. don't stay in place. However, they are quick to put on and easy to resize. The first time I used them I had to stop twice as I just slipped them loosely across the top of my shoe and of course they rode up. and the belt needs to be tightened to keep them there, they work stably and perfectly every time. I was also worried that the strap on the back of the snowshoes would move them, but once I got the gaiters under that strap they stayed in place well after many miles of snowshoeing and time. My advice: slip them over your calf over your shoes, velcro them up, then slide them over your shoes where you like rather than trying to stretch them all the way around. your boots first and fasten them with velcro. Once you have them in place, thread the straps under your shoes and thread them through the buckle, slide the front hooks onto the laces and you're done. I'm not sure about the durability yet, but I think the method above might help you with that. Don't stretch them too much or try to pull them back into place. They aren't very thick and I assume that pulling and tugging too hard can break them. But they are perfect for what they are supposed to do. Single thickness waterproof material. So if you're hoping for extra warmth, you probably won't get it. My ankles are fine, they are protected by good socks and from the wind and snow with these gaiters, but if you have cold extremities you may need insulated gaiters instead. Well, I think that's what gaiters are for - they protect open socks/ankles under pants and over shoes from snow and moisture.
