They were good for walking in the wet and boggy Irish grasslands. It drizzled one day. No water penetrates through the gaiters and the legs stay warm. This can be uncomfortable for someone with already hot feet, but mine tend to be chilly. They also serve as protection against ticks and prevent dirt from entering the boots. I recommend them.

gaiters don't stay on my legs and my legs aren't skinny (tight jeans don't suit me). The straps that run under the sole were worn out from impacts on the rocks I walked on. But these 2 things also applied to the expensive leggings I bought from REI. So I guess that's the nature of the spat in general.

Sure the straps could be stiffer but the gaiters are long enough, very firm material in the body, the velcro holds up well (I mainly use them in Minnesota for pheasant hunting through very tall mud and bushes to keep dirt out). my short boots) and go easy on boot and leg. Bought for a trip to the Olympic rainforest. There was no rain then, but a lot of mud. They kept my pants nice and clean. And eventually the mud flooded my boots but the spats held the mud. The only downside is that they are a little thick so they rustled at first when walking. But either I got used to it and didn't notice the sound anymore, or all the dirt drowned it out. As an active tourist in the Northeast, I spend a lot of time in the AT. I first bought these socks when I wanted to run the AT track in New Hampshire. Unfortunately, this product did not take root at all. The strap of a gaiter that you line under your boots has already come loose just six days after the dissection. Around the same time, the clip on a gaiter used for shoelaces also broke off. Of course I will no longer leave my business to this company.

I am very happy with it. At around $10 I wasn't expecting high quality, just a little protection when camping in shorts. They are made of high quality materials, fit well and do not slip. I've worn them for a week and they still look brand new. I didn't run in them but actually made a bottom loop to hold them around my bare foot instead of the crocs to make taking the shoes off a lot easier. I work in a food factory and when I'm done I take a high pressure sprayer to spray the bottom of my steel toe boots to get food underneath out of my shoes and my pants get wet. They are waterproof at best, but not waterproof. After that, my pant legs were less damp, but not dry. They stayed in place for the full 10 hours and the strap held up after 3 days of wearing. I was pleasantly surprised by this. don't stay in place. However, they are quick to put on and easy to resize. The first time I used them I had to stop twice as I just slipped them loosely across the top of my shoe and of course they rode up. and the belt needs to be tightened to keep them there, they work stably and perfectly every time.
