Works but not very well. I suppose it works for short drywall screws, but for 1" or longer it's pretty much useless. Here are the problems: Screwing costs only one star. Bits will fly out of the screw and damage the wood. Damaged wood is unacceptable. It will drift the screw under the surface until the bit starts to turn, the screw loosens and the bit wears out prematurely It doesn't allow you to see the depth and, even worse, removing the screw on the counter can't drown it's visible and is not enough. However, when loosening the hidden screws, it holds the screw. For loosening the screws, it gets a second star. Basically, it is useless. A real disappointment from Makita.
