Review on πŸ”₯ Premium 50w Reptile Heat Lamp Bulb 2 Pack - Pet Infrared Ceramic Heat Emitter for Brooder Coop, Lizard, Lambs, Snake - No Light, Black by Daniel Bates

Lamp 86 watts, NOT 50 watts

The incandescent lamp seems to work and warms up the room in front of it well. The lamp gets very hot, so be sure to use a lamp with a ceramic base. The price is definitely a bargain if you are willing to wait a bit to receive the item as it is shipped from China. Delivery took almost a month from the order date. I agreed. The only negative I have to share is that this is NOT a 50w bulb. I hooked up a lamp to my Kill-o-Wattmeter and was surprised it read 86 watts (and 0.7 amps) so I checked a second lamp and it read the same. For my unique use, this is a big problem. I am using this to heat a small SUV that has been converted into a camper and it runs on my solar array (using an inverter and battery). My system power could safely handle 50 watts, but 86 watts pushes the limits of what I can do throughout the night without draining my battery. Perhaps this explains why it generates more heat than I expected. This probably won't matter to most users, but if you're going to use it for its intended purpose, make sure it doesn't heat up your reptile area too much before leaving it unattended.
