I have owned this device for a year. Despite what other reviewers claim about paid reviews, I don't. I bought it for travel a year ago and use it semi regularly. Yes, the screen is heavy, you make it easier by adding magnets at the bottom so that when the laptop lid is open, the screen rests on the flat surface of your laptop. sit on. When this thing is plugged in, it can't be used as a portable laptop, but more like a desktop device. Luckily the screen just pops off as it's held in place with a magnet. Can't speak for the person who said they need some weird permissions to use it on a Mac. I was able to use this on both Windows and Linux without drivers or installing any software. It only appeared as a standard USB-C monitor. If this is what you are looking for and want to attach magnets to your laptop with VHB tape, this is a good choice.
