available Update 09/12/2020: I currently have a Samsung evo 1TB SSD in the slot and it works perfectly. For me as a video editor, this extra space is great for my workflow. The speeds are fast and I can edit 4k videos with no lag. I definitely recommend this to all Mac Mini users. I needed additional ports on my Mac Mini and it was slightly cheaper than a Satechi USB C Hub, AND it comes with a SATA 2.5 drive slot (which I have yet to test). At the moment it's only connected to my Mini and seems to be working pretty well. The card reader on the front is very slow in terms of data transfer speed. I usually use an external USB-C card reader - ANKER - I think this is very slow in comparison. This is a little disappointing but not a problem as I have another card reader. The other issue is that it's not the same color as the 2018 Mac Mini - I'm assuming it's the same color as the 2016 model. I'm waiting on my HDD to check for additional SSD space. Pros: + Adds 2 USB 2.0 ports, 2 USB 3.0 ports, 2.5 SATA SSD bay, Micro and Standard SD card readers + More features + Apple-only design + Occupies one (1) USB -C connector on the back. Cons: - Micro and SD card readers are slow - No headphone jack - Construction looks a bit cheap - Bottom is plastic, cheap flimsy plastic - When folded it doesn't look solid like a Satechi brand hub. All in all, this is a good hub for adding extra ports to your Mac Mini. For reference, the Mac Mini is my workhorse for home editing. I currently have: 1 32" Samsung 4K monitor, 5 external hard drives, 3 external SSDs connected to my Mini. Additional ports are welcome as ALL my drives are constantly backing up footage to the cloud. Will update when I can use the SSD bay for additional storage.
