Not bad but carefully inspect the mount from all sides before installing

When I saw this cell phone mount for Toyota Tundra Trucks on one of the TUNDRA forums I decided to give it a try. When I bought it the system indicated it would be weeks before I received it. In fact, it arrived within a few days and I went to install it. Here's what you should do. Before you even attempt to install the mount, inspect it from all sides. Pay special attention to the lower left side of the bracket. Look at the back facing the dashboard. Look for a very thin tab sticking out. Make sure it is square to the bracket. Mine was slightly bent. On the right you can see two latches that have wedged into the truck's skin from the radio side. The challenge is fitting the tabs into the trimming gap on the right without bending or breaking the small tab on the bottom left of the bracket. If you ask the manufacturer, you'll find that a lot of people are asking for a different mount because of that little protrusion on the left side that's broken. And from what I've read the manufacturer is great at supplying new mounts. The instructions do not indicate that the left tongue is on the back. This tab on the back left is fragile, so be careful. This tab needs some work to be more reliable for installation. Ok, for the rating. The phone holder itself is quite nice. He does what he says. If the holder has power, it will open when your mobile phone freezes. For my iPhone XS Max (the largest) it would be nice if it opened up another 5-10mm. It's just a little tight in the maximum open position. After lowering the phone into the open holder, it closes quickly. My phone has an Apple case and the wireless charging works fine. Unfortunately, my 2020 Tundra doesn't have Apple CarPlay Wireless, so I have to connect a second cable to my phone when using Apple CarPlay. This is not a problem for mobile phone owners. Bluetooth connections work fine. I also found it odd that I couldn't find a real website for this holder. If you try to connect to proholderus.com which is on the box nothing will work. I just wanted to email the manufacturer that it would be even better if the cell phone holder had its own built-in battery so that the holder opens even when the truck is switched off. Why? Well, when I get into my truck I have a cell phone in my right hand and ideally I lean over the mount and lower it and then start the truck. Since the holder needs power to open, I have to put the phone down, start the truck, and then put the phone in the holder. Not much, but it would be great if there was a built-in small battery that also charges when power is applied, allowing the mount to open by itself. I also want to be sure that if the mount breaks in the future I can email the manufacturer to have the mount replaced. I don't see any website that would allow me to do that if they stop selling on AMAZON. Overall I'm a good product that would be great and with a few tweaks would get 5 stars from me.
