This face mask is listed on the CDC website as one of their recommended N95 particulate filter face masks. This differs from a surgical mask as it filters out smaller particles. I cannot stress enough the importance of a good mask seal. These masks come in a variety of styles and shapes. Finding one that fits your face is important. Whether a mask really fits your face can only be determined by a tight fit test. Aptitude test kits can be purchased online. I don't know how accurate they are. I highly recommend performing a fit test if the purpose of the mask is to protect against biological particles. I am a nurse. Through fitting testing, I found that the type of mask I was using did not fit. It doesn't offer a perfect fit. You can't put on a mask and say you have a seal. I found my mask perfect. I could feel it touching the edges of my face, but tests showed I didn't have a 100% seal. When using a mask to shield biological particles, it is important not to touch the outside of the mask. You can infect yourself. The exhalation valve on the mask prevents moisture build-up and makes exhalation easier. Read the instructions before use as there is a great risk of getting infected with the mask if you don't know how to use it.
