When I first started using this thread I was as excited as everyone else to finally get a Prusament reel. After the first attempts, this excitement quickly began to dissipate. Poor adhesion to the layer, clogged nozzle (prior to that I hadn't had a clog for several months) and poor extrusion. I spent time cleaning the nozzle, thermal break, bowden hose, drive gears on my Titan and anything else I could think of and the problem persisted. First, I printed at a speed of 215, which is where I print all my PLA. Since 215 is already above all the PLAs I've printed in the past, I didn't want to print that much hotter. I gradually increased the temp until I got to 225 and the pressure was much better. Printing at 215 was so taxing on my extruder motor that it actually destroyed my E3D pancake motor and I had to replace it with a full size Nema17. So moral of the story, print out the temp tower and expect it to print out hot! The prints are beautiful now and the layer lines are obscured by the silver spots in the thread. And yes there are specs, this is not a simple black thread. My printer: Custom Hypercube Evolution with linear guides, a real E3D titanium extruder that works like a bowden cable. I would rate it higher but adhesion to the skin is still not as good. like other PLAs (I've tried a glass platform with a glue stick and removable flexible bed plate) and the price doesn't seem worth it unless you're printing exhibits and need Prusament's insanely tight tolerances. However, I did a custom print of an Atlas statue for a colleague and it is an amazing print and I have ordered another roll. be attractive. **Update**: Be careful when using this yarn with the Cura iron on option. The extremely slow extrusion seems to be clogging the nozzle, forcing me to pause the print, manually squeeze the filament to clear the blockage, and then resume printing. A few times I was away from the printer and didn't hear the telltale click of the extruder motor as it skipped and ruined over 3 hours of prints :/
