Wouldn't recommend buying them at all
Bought last year and now used for ice fishing. The "notches" on the underside of the yellow disks are round metal tips. Well, round metal on ice is slippery, if not slippery, than just boots on ice. If you step on them hard and press hard, they dig into the ice and provide some stopping power. Simply walking on bare ice, however, is a risky business. I would definitely not recommend buying these.
