The device cleans the air well in a small space, but there are also disadvantages. The filter is not a standard size and it is impossible to find a replacement for it. The fan is loud on all three settings, which is the most frustrating issue. I bought three devices and they are all the same. Even at low levels, my kids ask me to turn them off at night because they're so loud. In comparison, I have to set my large room-wide air purifier to a high setting to match the noise level of even the lowest of these units. Normal performance, no filters to be found and bordering on unacceptable noise levels.
