Review on Enhance Your RV Power Connection with Miady 30AMP Easy Unplug Male Plug - ETL Certified by Christopher Buck

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exactly as described

Plugs work well although I've had issues mainly due to the fact I used Romex 10/2 wire which is too stiff compared to a portable power supply is cable that is highly flexible and easier to handle. But I already had 10 feet of Romex wire available, and with a little patience, the alternator extension I made was long enough and worked. I live in South Florida and hurricane season is fast approaching. I have a large generator, 10,000 watts, but it has to be turned on manually in the event of a power outage, and going outside in high winds can be deadly. So I bought a Champion remote start inverter generator with enough power to run two fridges and other essentials, at least until it's safe to go outside to turn on the larger generator. The inverter generator is under a weather-protected covered patio and I can turn it on from home while watching it work through a storm-proof window. The wall leading to the patio has a built in pet door and that's where the extension comes in. I just installed a spare Miady 30AMP RV plug on one end (see the amp jacks are enclosed in a wooden box. The wooden box is large enough to be secured in a pet door and can be sealed with a gasket to prevent generator fumes from entering In the event of a hurricane, I can set everything up in advance, and if the power goes out, all I have to do is start the generator remotely from the shelter.

Pros

Cons
  • So-so
