bought this pump for use as a return in our small salt water tank. The "adjustable" function does not work hardly at all so it was switched out after about a month for a DC return pump for flow control. The pump has since then been used very successfully to mix salt and pump out old water from the tank and transfer new fresh salt water in during water changes. This pump has made the process very easy. No more doing it by hand and one person can now do the job of 2 or 3. This little pump has been going strong for almost a year now. It is not constant use, but pretty close as well as a lot of "dry" running while being transferred between buckets and tanks. It holds up really well. I am not totally sure about the 880gph rating either, but it pumps with a pretty strong and reliable flow.
