READ THIS BEFORE PURCHASING: I purchased this for my 2006 Mercury Mountaineer V6 AWD but it turned out to have the wrong seal, although Revain shows it is correct for my year/make/model. A few years ago Ford/Mercury installed a new oil seal # after complaining that the replacement was not holding properly and the axle shaft was still leaking. If you are replacing the rear outer axle seal (passenger side) on a 2006 Mercury Mountaineer or Ford Explorer, locate OEM part number 7L1Z-4A109-D (8.8" axle). This is the correct part, according to Ford, although Revain said it doesn't fit, but it does. Retail price $45, Revain around $30-31.
