Review on ๐Ÿ“ก ABBREE Tactical Antenna - 42.5-inch Tri-Band 144/222/435Mhz for Baofeng & Radioddity Two Way Radios by Brian Gordon

Better than Nagoya 771

Well, it's not practical to mount directly to the top of the radio, but it works better than a regular bolt. I was able to work fairly well with the repeater about 50 miles from my 8 watt Tenway UV-5r Pro while the whip and even my magnetic mount whip couldn't get in. I then tried it with the antenna folded down and was still able to activate the repeater, but the other people at the repeater hardly understood me. Still better than the Whip 771. By the way, I also put a tiger tail counterpoise on the radio and an identical radio without trying to hit the repeater with the Abbere fully extended. If you don't know what it is just do a youtube search, it's basically a 9.6 inch piece of wire connected to a ground point like a screw that holds the belt clip in place. My use case is to attach it to my plate holder. with a small coax cable to connect it to my radio on my belt. I really don't think I want to connect it directly to the radio as it puts too much pressure on the connector. In general, apart from connecting your HT to an external antenna like Slim Jim or similar, I think it's the best option for you while still being mobile.
