I've had some issues with Comcast's internal wiring. Troubleshooters came to me 3 times to inspect the cables and make some changes including the changes made in the previous troubleshooter. I kept getting suboptimal signal levels and my internet and streaming TV signals dropped. In any case, I removed the splitter that one of the troubleshooters in my home office installed right in front of my cable modem and installed a good quality cable extension adapter (VCE Gold Plated F-Type Coaxial RG6 Cable Extension Adapter) on the short cable. the length of trunk cable left at the office, and then a five or six foot coax cable that Comcast left between the adapter and my cable modem (third new modem in a year). I was still having problems, so I replaced the coaxial cable with a two meter Philips Elite cable. I wasn't expecting a huge improvement, but the signal strength of both the incoming and outgoing streams improved immediately. None of the problems returned and I've had good, consistent service ever since. Yes, I know that simply removing the splitter from the cable duct and replacing the potentially dodgy coaxial cable left behind by Comcast might explain most or all of the improvements, but I still highly recommend this cable. Now he does his part to provide excellent service.
