I bought these for a pre-lit Christmas tree that had blown bulbs. was super picky. When I close the shutter, the light goes out. I would have to rotate, pull out the pins and leave them unfastened for this to work. I then looked at the base and it was a bit shorter than the original bulbs. After reading another review I then took the new bulb out of the new socket, put the new bulb in the old socket and snapped it back into the tree and everything worked great. So, just a little extra step, but they were the perfect soft white, just like the rest of the garlands on my Christmas tree.
