As a serious fan of old Ford tractors that some have in the stable, this isn't the first Pertronix kit to have such an accurate part number. However, this is the first failed attempt I've had to contact Pertronix support. Here is an overview of our communication through their online support/ticket system. Gmail moved Pertronix notifications to the spam folder, which I didn't notice right away, so I was beginning to realize they finally replied first. November 7th: I created a ticket detailing all relevant measurements, including the primary and secondary coil resistances and the distributor ground resistance. , the voltage drop of the loaded module/coil, the distance between the magnet and the module, and the results of your jumper troubleshooting step. this measurement has already been given, but given again. November 16: They were confused by their own installation instructions and asked what I meant. November 17th: I've replied with a copy of their own schematic showing how I wired it up and asked for some specs or troubleshooting steps since it's been 10 days. November 19: You submitted a new troubleshooting step. November 22nd: I was able to complete the requested steps and provide the results. Module I removed and installed another tractor, the tractor worked fine, proving that the module I just purchased was faulty and updated my ticket with this one. Then they closed the ticket. No reply, no RMA, nothing. It is now December 2nd and there are no updates other than closing tickets. Luckily for all of us, Revain's customer support is fantastic and they're bringing the module back. This kit works great when it works. Be very careful with the distributor dust cover, it got in the way on two of my tractors where I installed this kit. In combination with a flamethrower coil, the tractor works perfectly. However, my experience with Pertronix's pathetic attempt to provide customer service is unacceptable. When you look at reviews of Pertronix products, you can find either very good or very bad reviews. The good ones are when the product is up and running out of the box, the bad is when they contact support. This is a gamble they are taking by purchasing their products. Unfortunately, this situation made a very bad impression on me. One of my tractors will continue to work with the Pertronix work kit while the others will return to the points. Pertronix doesn't have many competitors, which is sad. A little healthy competition would have made things better for this company.
