This hard drive gets the job done for a lot less than most other external hard drives. It's already pre-formatted for the PlayStation 4, so all that was left to do was plug it in and he was ready to play some ridiculously large games on it. I'm using the original PS4 500GB so storage space is very limited. Luckily there were no issues here as I already had a 70GB game on it and it immediately went to an external drive (as you can see in the photo). It was eye candy to hit load on a game and not get the ominous little message that there wasn't enough free space and delete one of the three remaining games to make room haha. It's a little heavier than you might think, but it still sits on the PlayStation with no issues and makes minimal noise, although it does have a low hum for those who might expect silence. All in all it's a great value for the 3TB of extra storage and it does exactly the job it was designed to do without all the effort other than finding a nearby outlet to plug it in. So I'd say it's worth buying, especially compared to the twice the price JUST because it's lighter and more compact.
