I've already spent about $1,500 building a gaming PC, so I was looking for a relatively cheap but decent monitor so I wouldn't go too far. It's good enough for gaming if you can't: afford an expensive monitor, don't care about graphics, or have a lower-end graphics card. It's also more than enough for regular web browsing or work-related work. It only outputs up to 1080p but still looks good and uses freesync which works with gsync if you have an Nvidia graphics card (like mine). It has two HDMI ports but no DisplayPort. This was an issue as my card had two displayports and one HDMI connector so I had to buy a DP -> HDMI cable. It degrades the quality a bit, but I'm using it on my second monitor, so it's not a problem. Image quality looks good for what you'd expect from 1080p, and there's a fair amount of settings to tinker with. I researched what works well and found racing to be a good choice. It also has a small joystick on the back for toggling settings and the ability to toggle inputs, which is handy for switching to my work laptop. The frequency goes up to 75Hz and I get 60 to 100 fps depending on the game; For reference, I play a lot of WoW and Overwatch and they look great. I ended up buying two of these for my dual setup and they work great until I can upgrade this feature. Whether you're looking for a good entry-level gaming monitor or just need something for everyday use, this is a great deal.
