Cons: No instructions other than the 'be careful not to cut your fingers' warning that usually comes with these tools is delivered . More expensive than the competition. Difficult to set up the first time. For these three I give four stars (I like it). Pros: cuts well after a proper adjustment, cuts softwood cleanly and few chips on the tongue part of hardwood (this part doesn't matter as it sticks anyway). Good tight fit between two mating parts. I blew through a six foot 4x1 board to find the correct height and depth (I don't have a router lift on my desk). I don't understand why these bits even come with bearings. Attempting to align the fence with the bearing as I originally did will not give correct results on a 3/4 inch thick work piece as it will cut too much and there will be nothing but air on the left side of the work piece to align . For those who don't have staggered split fences, the best way to properly align the knives is to make a test piece cut in half, then cut the cut half off and use it to align the fence so the lead-in and lead-out sides are touching. The basic idea is this , ensuring that the edge of the workpiece to be cut is flush with the fence as it passes through the cutter so that the workpiece is supported on either side of the fence. Once you've corrected your settings, save a small chunk that you can use to line up the beats next time.
