The first 5 or 6 slices lit up perfectly. After that I got one crash after another. At first I suspected that my computer was running a media burner until the same thing happened on another computer. I tried the disc from the bottom of the stack and it burned correctly on the same computer with the same material. I used another program to check for disk bumps and the bad disks didn't work at the 3.8GB point where I believe the shift change occurs. The DVD identifier is used and this indicates that the manufacturer of the disc is Ritek who must produce an excellent product. Without digging any further and without straining my already old eyes, I suspect that Memorex mixed some fake discs into this batch. In any case, buy them at your own risk. I will follow the advice given on almost every site I have looked at and next time I will buy Verbatim DL DVDs.
