I have this bag in both black (purchased November 2014) and cranberry (purchased August 2015). I change colors depending on the occasion and without a doubt it has become my everyday handbag. As my photos show, it is approximately 9 inches high and 10 inches wide. If you like to pack all your worldly possessions in a handbag and don't mind the weight of 10+ pounds digging into your shoulder, then I don't recommend this particular bag for you. It's just not big enough to fit everything and then some. If you like the security features of Travelon bags, you need to check out their larger wallets. For a small wallet, however, it has a surprising amount of room in the main interior, which opens about 3 inches wide, a zip pocket (on the back of the wallet), a smaller zip pocket, and a zip pocket (both on the front, side of the wallet) are also useful and spacious. I use a thin wallet (trust me, it's boxed) against a rectangular brick. Traditional size wallet. If the zip opening in the main compartment is about 20cm wide, it can be difficult to slide a large wallet in and out of the bag. I carry my cell phone, pens, flashlight, tape measure (yes, you never know when you're going to shop if you need to measure something), lip balm, comb, snacks, sunglasses, maps and/or tickets depending on the event. My wallets (black or burgundy) have been with me on vacations to Las Vegas, Acadia National Park, to work, to dinner, etc. Carrying it as a crossbody bag makes me feel the wallet is secure and the right size for my daily needs. But the added chainsaw protection features, main compartment latch and adjustable shoulder strap length are all an added plus. I've had the black bag for almost a year now and haven't had any issues with quality or wear. I liked it so much that I ordered it in Bordeaux.
