You are not viewing this printer because you have a specific job/purpose. You must put on paper what is on your screen so that you can give it to an employer, teacher, or government agency. Congratulations, you found it. This is a printer that hits the spot, it prints great in color, even in black and white. If you need an emergency photo on glossy paper, that's fine, and nobody outside of the photo industry is the wiser. Do you want to know why I'm here? I'm here because Epson won't print in black and white when the cyan cartridge is empty. I found this printer for $50. Not sure what it is for the dear reader of this review, but rest assured that I had no intention of spending that exact amount to refill my Epson Black + Color ink cartridges. However, I cannot yet say whether the printer prints black and white with a used color cartridge. I used to have pistol printers. Even the ability to print documents with color ink when black runs out in a pinch. I'll keep you posted when the time comes. So let's summarize. Yes it works, and it works well for your students and homes, NOT offices (if you want an office printer, get any laser printer and you'll be fine.) It's not fast, it does the job well, simple , and sure .
