I have a medium sized cat, around 9-10 pounds and a medium sized cat, 11.5-12 pounds. I thought she was too small for a fat kitty but she also loves to curl up and sleep on the bed! I would not get a cat over 12 pounds. I was able to assemble it in minutes. Bought mainly for a small cat. To seduce her, I put a treat on the bed. She stretched, ate a treat, then jumped up to explore. Within 15 minutes she curled up and went back to sleep. It's snug, meaning she can't lie flat, but she likes it.
