Better than other brands downlights

If you are looking for other brands downlights, this is for you. It's a lot lighter than Tetra or two Chinese brands I've tried. At first I was concerned about chips with blue light, but the light doesn't have a distinctive blue cast. It just looks like a nice clean white light. It looks good and the suction cups are strong so I'm happy with my purchase. However, it's still not a bright light. Probably best as a complement to the cheap lamps that come with aquarium kits or to provide extra lighting for hard-to-reach areas. I like growing houseplants out of the waterline of my aquariums, much like a paludarium. The problem is that I always have a dark spot under the roots. This little light comes and it helps to hide in the aquarium to illuminate the dark spot and hopefully it will be enough to grow some aquatic plants like Anubias in low light. I currently have it in 40B and it only really lights up the farthest corner. These are great for my use but I wouldn't rely on them as my main light source. Alone it would probably light 5 or 10 gallons pretty well. On my 29 gallons, this wouldn't be enough for observing fish or aquatic plants. Therefore, for medium to large aquariums, I would recommend using them in combination with other light sources.
