So this was used at a physical therapy session I went to. If used properly, it can leave what appears to be like a bruise on the skin. But it helped with relaxing muscles in my neck and shoulders. Now I have one at home because I have a wife that can be taught how to use it in a similar fashion. Its like a message but more conctrated. It helped with pain relief in my neck and shoulders, but not so much with range of motion. To learn how to use this, I am sure a YouTube video on Instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization would be most useful.
