Review on πŸ”΄ Noctua NF-A6x25 FLX: Premium 60mm Brown Quiet Fan - 3-Pin for Optimal Cooling by Tyler Vaughn

Revainrating 5 out of 5

My Akai S6000 is quieter

I installed this fan in my Akai S6000 sampler. It replaces the much louder original fan. Installation was easy. No modifications or adapters are required for compatibility. I only had to ignore one pin (align the hot and ground pins with the same ones on the S6000 fan header and leave one fan header unused). It's not very firm, but it doesn't wobble either. Maybe the packaging was a bit bloated and I didn't need adapters, but that doesn't bother me. It's nice to see a product that comes in genuine packaging that feels legitimate and complete. I'm not sure how to rate this fan compared to similar products on the market, but it's a huge improvement over my Akai S6000 (replacing a SCSI hard drive). a drive with a SCSI2SD adapter and an SD card also does wonders for noise reduction). Akai S6000 owners: Be careful when disconnecting the original S6000 fan. It is very difficult to pull the plug out of the block. I had to solder the back of the connector because I broke the copper pins at the soldering points. It has nothing to do with the fan in this rating; just a friendly note to anyone who comes here for the same reason as me.
