Review on Bridgestone Blizzak VRX 195/55 R16 87S winter by Wiktor Jakuta ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A really necessary purchase, I'm glad I found this product.

I used and tested tires in two sizes 185/60R15 on Skoda Rapid and 195/55R16 on Lada Vesta. In general, I note the fact that a lot depends on the machine. If Lada Vesta drags on any rubber, then Rapid goes on rails, including on VRX. Here, many write about the shortcomings of this rubber - a resource, but if you consider that this rubber is intended for winter operation on snow and ice, then this disadvantage disappears, it lasts a long time. I have 100% wear (the remaining tread is already 2 mm out of the required 4) for a mileage of 55,000 km, but the rubber continues to work like new, behaves well both on the highway at high speeds and in the city in porridge, snow and ice. During the winter in Siberia, I saw bare ice a couple of times and then not for long, the rest of the time either snow, or asphalt with porridge, or off-road, where rubber behaves better than studded. I have been on spikes for 10 years and after VRX I will never return to spikes. Once I took a replacement car for a week, it was on Hakapeliitta 5 spikes, it’s like a cow on ice, howling, noise, slippery, constantly scraping the asphalt at the start . I don’t understand why, with the modern development of the tire industry, spikes are needed? Even the Triangle 777 I really liked after the spikes, it slows down perfectly, although its side grip is worse than that of the VRX. In general, a brief summary: I don’t know how in the west or south of 2022, where there is little snow in winter, this rubber may wear out quickly due to its softness, but in the conditions of the Siberian winter and snow this is the best I had, complete confidence on the road , highways, intercity - this is her strong point, you go and you don’t blow in your mustache, even on ice it slows down quickly from 130 km / h to 40, for example, unlike spikes, where the braking distance was about twice as long. Although on clear ice at low speeds the spikes brake better, although not by much, here you need to turn on your head and keep your distance. Otherwise, the city is perfect, you don’t gnaw anything with nails, and the spikes don’t fly out, because there aren’t any. I recommend this tire to those who know how to feel their car!
