Heavy Duty Boots.: Hiking and Trekking

I bought these boots specifically for a 96 hour small unit tactics course. During those 96 hours, we only slept about 8 hours because we were on our feet most of the time, hiking and patrolling the high desert regions of southern Utah on both flat and mountainous and densely forested terrain. These boots worked fairly well and although they failed I didn't get blisters or other areas on my feet that showed significant wear as expected. There are a few dry spots but other than that my feet were fine. The boots even helped protect my feet when I stepped on a board with a nail and reduced the damage to my foot. The only thing I noticed is that the insoles curl up a bit after washing my boots. Not sure if this is due to the drying process which uses a hair dryer to dry faster or not I suspect the reason is the heat of the hair dryer. I plan to exchange the insoles. I cannot recommend these boots more as they have seen extensive use on rough terrain in a short period of time and have protected and enabled my feet to move.
