Glue, no screw! in fixture accessories

This is an inexpensive and very practical T-Track. There are no holes, but the aluminum is soft, and there is a groove in the center for aligning the drill. You need to countersink the holes so the head of the mounting screw doesn't collide with the head of the 1/4" hex screw. The ribbed section is .7505" wide. The top is slightly wider. I measured it at .7618". . Height .3517". The limited height created problems with some bolt heads, particularly those with raised markings. There were a few bolts that I had to sharpen a bit before they would fit. Incra rails are pre-drilled, need a 1/ 2" deep mounting groove and don't have this problem. They are also more expensive. how to install them. Make a 3/4 x 3/8" slot, mix epoxy for about 15 minutes and glue into the slot. The ridges on the sides will be filled with epoxy and it will be held in place once the glue has set. So If you have limited depth and don't mind gluing this will do.Drilling and countersinking holes works but is a hassle. If this is the route you prefer I would recommend looking into a pre-drilled track .

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.
