Review on 🦍 Gorilla 108084: Strong and Reliable 1.88" x 50yd Utility Tape - Black by Kaushik Inlawker

I made the mistake of using this to repair a clean tear in my pickup truck's vinyl cover. After spending a lot of time cleaning and preparing the surface, I attached a long strip across the width of the bed and closed a small gap. Tucked the edges under the rim of the seal. Everything looked fine as I ended up applying rolling pressure down the full length of the tape to permanently set it in place. It was about 78f out when I did and the man was so tacky, took a pretty good straight to even get it off the reel so I had high expectations. Fast forward two weeks and I can see the tape flapping in the wind just like me. I drive down the street and smear the rest of my vinyl case in the gooey mess. The heat from the sun and the black top simply melted the adhesive and the tape peeled off. wtf. I haven't seen anything in their description that would suggest a different operating temperature range than under 32f. Also, the tape was shrinking and pulling out from under the seal, and the black had already faded and no longer matched the vinyl. So failure is omnipresent. and used a whole jar of fools to clean up the mess. Thanks for nothing, gorilla, no tape.
