I bought this to replace an aging 4ft fluorescent light bulb in our toilet. The bathroom is small, just over 4 feet wide. The mount I originally bought to replace it doesn't work due to the attachment method. This works like a charm despite being much smaller than the old device. First, this mount is all plastic, so there's no ground wire or even a ground anchor point. The inside consists of a group of LEDs mounted on a printed circuit board. It does not mount directly to the electrical box, instead requiring drilling holes in the ceiling, installing drywall anchors, and then bolting through the mounting holes. You must be careful when installing the screws through the ladder's circuit board rungs to avoid damaging them. The connecting wires are (barely) long enough to connect the electrical wires inside the box. I found it easier to screw one side just enough to hold the bracket while securing the wires in the box before installing and tightening the second screw. Once installed, the diffuser simply snaps into place. This light is NOT dimmable which is fine with me. It was installed in our bathroom half and who needs decorative lighting in a rarely used room. The luminous flux is very bright and even, without flickering. Much brighter than the old fluorescent lamp that used to be installed. Due to its relatively small size, the ceiling needs painting, but the room needs painting anyway, so that's not a problem. Could it be better? Absolutely. A simple fitting to a standard electrical box would make this a 5 star light.
