Bought to use the HP CP2020 color laser printer automatically between two computers, one with 64-bit Windows 7 and the other with 32-bit Vista . It was a nightmare. The advantage of this product is the automatic printer switching function. The included software that should do this just doesn't work. * I installed it on both computers, but it doesn't start automatically with Windows - you have to start it by double-clicking the desktop shortcut every time you start your computer. The printer appeared offline in Windows Printers as soon as I ran the program on any computer. When I tried to enable the automatic swap mode in the IOGEAR program settings (it is disabled by default) the program hung, hung for 10 seconds and crashed on both computers. It didn't matter if I restarted the computers or reinstalled the software - it crashed every time I tried to share the printer. to manually restart the print spooler service. The average computer user doesn't know how to do this. On a Vista machine, after the program crashed, I restarted the computer and Windows couldn't see the printer, so I had to uninstall the printer and reinstall it on a different USB port to get it to see it again. When I called IOGEAR customer service, the rep quickly picked up the phone but was condescending, rude and totally unhelpful. should work. I am a high level PC user. I just built my own computer. I know how to install programs correctly. The included IOGEAR software just crashes and doesn't work, period. This is final. Giving one star because the product doesn't work as described, the online software is outdated, and the customer service experience is terrible. I don't give many one star reviews so stay away from this product. As for me, I won't be buying any more IOGEAR products anytime soon. Too many returns issues and it still works as a manual switch so I won't be sending it back.
