This rating is situational. I work for OVK. I was looking for an inexpensive K-type probe to get deeper temperature readings in cross-sections of large ducts and air conditioning cabinets. There is quite a lot of air inside between the metal shell of the probe and the thermocouple, which isolates the thermocouple from the medium to be measured. So there will be no quick accurate readings. Save money by using pocket thermometers. For other areas, it may be ideal for them.
