Review on 🔪 RMP High Carbon Annealed Knife Blade Steel Billets - 1095, 2" x 12" x 0.187" for Knife Making by Dean Love

I ordered 3 different sets of 3/16 1095 blanks for 2" and 1.5" blanks and none of them were annealed as described. They couldn't be cut on a bandsaw with a new blade, and Nicholson's new files roll over them like they're on ice. This seems to be a recurring problem with this company, particularly their 1095. I can easily run the same annealed 3/16 1095 from Jantz, so it's not my gear. When I pay that much for a few pieces of metal, I expect them to be annealed. The size, consistency and flatness were actually fine, they just need to be handled properly, but those hours are better spent elsewhere if you don't have an oven to work with.
