Noisy but better option than a hybrid

I even remember not long ago that 10,000 rpm hard drives were only for dream machines and the prices reflected that, but now with SSD these things are pretty reasonable. I've replaced most of my computers with SSDs, but one of them had a 1TB 7200RPM boot drive that I really didn't want to disassemble to use a smaller SSD since 1TB SSDs still exist are insanely expensive. Before trying this I bought a hybrid drive (which is actually based on a 5600rpm drive) and tried it for a few months and wasn't impressed. The hybrid drive is said to get faster over time but I didn't notice that and it actually seemed slower than my original 7200rpm drive. This Velocirapter was for sale so I gave it a try. It installed well and I noticed a definite improvement over the hybrid powertrain (which never went back to this technology). Not as fast as an SSD, but for the money I'm happy. I'm taking off a star because the thing is loud, the clicking noise is the loudest hard drive noise I've ever heard. It doesn't feel like drumming and sometimes if I'm not careful it doesn't bother me much, but sometimes it does things like launching a program and loud clicking hundreds of times and it's annoying.
